Honorary member Robert Wolders, longtime Audrey Hepburn companion, passes

Presented award named for Hepburn at Sigma biennial conventions.

Honorary member Robert Wolders, companion of Audrey Hepburn, passesSigma honorary member and actor Robert Wolders, 81, died 12 July 2018. He was a companion to American actress Audrey Hepburn from 1980 until her death in 1993. 

Robert WoldersWolders accompanied Hepburn to Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, in 1992 when Sigma presented her with the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award to honor her humanitarian work for children's healthcare as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador.  

After Hepburn's untimely death, Sigma established the Audrey Hepburn Award for Contributions to the Health and Welfare of Children. Wolders presented the award at several biennial conventions and was inducted as an honorary member in 1997.
