Nurses are invited to submit innovative patient care ideas and projects for the
Care Challenge recognition program. Twenty award recipients will be selected by an independent jury.
The program is open to licensed nurses anywhere in the world. To accommodate the international scope of this program, the deadline for online submissions has been extended to 31 March 2012.
Outstanding nurse innovators are recognized in two categories: Nurse in the Limelight Awards and Helping Hand Awards.
The ten winners in the Nurse in the Limelight category will be prominently featured on the
Care Challenge website with a professionally produced video of their innovations.
A prize of 3,000 Euros (about US $4,140) will be awarded to the 10 recipients of Helping Hand Awards to support the continuance or development of their initiative.
The program focuses on identifying nursing innovations related to:
- Education: Resources promoting patient self-management or raising community awareness of a disease
- Practice: Nursing services, procedures, techniques or tools promoting patient self-management of disease or new ways to support families and caregivers
- Research: Studies of outcomes of innovative approaches to nursing, patient care and patient education
Care Challenge is sponsored by Sanofi, in partnership with the International Council of Nurses (ICN), the Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation, le Secrétariat International Des Infirmières et Infirmiers de l'Espace Francophone, and l’Association Française pour le Développement de l'Education Thérapeutique. The program is part of
Connecting Nurses, an international initiative to champion the extraordinary accomplishments of nurses around the world.
